Calhoun Sandcrabs at Beeville Trojans, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Calhoun, 30-27.

Notes: Calhoun (6-2, 4-0) would clinch at least a share of the district championship with a win over Beeville (2-5, 1-2). Calhoun finished in a three-way tie for the district title in 2007 and a two-way tie for the title in 2006. Calhoun has gone 2-1 against Beeville since the teams became district opponents. Calhoun has averaged 37 points per game in district play. Calhoun's Brandon Sanders has rushed for 825 yards and 14 touchdowns, and Michael Mullins has rushed for 645 yards and seven touchdowns.

Stafford Spartans at Wharton Tigers, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Wharton, 12-0.

Notes: Wharton (0-6, 0-2) and Stafford (5-2, 0-2) seek their first district win. Wharton has lost nine straight dating back to last season and has not scored more than 18 points in any game. Stafford started the season 5-0 but has been outscored 96-22 in district losses to Sweeny and Brookshire Royal.

Cuero Gobblers at Goliad Tigers, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Cuero, 63-6.

Notes: Cuero (7-0, 2-0) goes for its ninth straight win over Goliad (1-6, 1-1) Goliad last defeated Cuero in 1992 and since that game Cuero has outscored Goliad by a combined total of 359-50. Cuero, ranked No. 4 in the state poll, has won 30 consecutive district games under coach Mark Reeve and would maintain at least a share of the district lead with a win. Goliad snapped an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season with a win over Gonzales in double overtime last week. Cuero's Tyler Arndt has passed for 1,151 yards and 17 touchdowns, and Trent Jackson has rushed for 1,091 yards and 12 touchdowns. Goliad's Tyler Althoff has passed for 1,056 yards and nine touchdowns, and Billy Sippel has 24 catches for 256 yards and one touchdown.

Edna Cowboys at Palacios Sharks, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Edna, 21-10.

Notes: Edna (5-1, 2-0) has won seven straight over Palacios (3-4, 1-1) dating back to 2001. Palacios' last win over Edna was a 14-6 victory in 2000. Edna would maintain at least a share of the district lead with a win. Edna is averaging 28.5 points per game to Palacios' 11.7 points per game. Edna's Kam Jones has passed for 847 yards and six touchdowns, and Ervin Yates has rushed for 711 yards and nine touchdowns. Palacios' Nathan Loff has rushed for 605 yards and four touchdowns.

Gonzlaes Apaches at Yoakum Bulldogs, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Yoakum, 31-0.

Notes: Gonzales (1-6, 0-2) and Yoakum (2-5, 0-2) face a virtual must-win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Yoakum has lost district games to Cuero and Edna by a combined nine points. Gonzales lost to Palacios and Goliad by a combined 13 points. This is the 12th consecutive meeting of the teams and Yoakum owns a 7-4 edge during that span. Gonzales' Kieran Johnson has passed for 1,015 yards and eight touchdowns, and Ckody Burton has 33 receptions for 604 yards and five touchdowns. Yoakum's Trey Hights has rushed for 927 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Schulenburg Shorthorns at Rice Consolidated Raiders, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Rice Consolidated, 42-14.

Notes: Rice Consolidated (5-4, 3-0) would maintain at least a share of the district lead with a win over Schulenburg (4-4, 2-2). Rice Consolidated beat previously undefeated Weimar 21-13 last week, but dropped from No. 9 to No. 10 in the state poll. Rice Consolidated had lost two consecutive games to Schulenburg until last season. Schulenburg is coming off a loss to Hallettsville. but could still make the playoffs with wins over Rice Consolidated and Weimar. Schulenburg's Kyle Bludau has passed for 1,055 yards and eight touchdowns, and Kacy Mayberry and David Houston have combined for 40 catches for 686 yards and seven touchdowns. Rice Consolidated's Myles Dumont has passed for an area-leading 1,302 yards and 11 touchdowns, and Mario Hull has 31 receptions for 664 yards and nine touchdowns.

Brazos Consolidated Cougars at East Bernard Brahmas, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: East Bernard, 62-20.

Notes: Brazos Consolidated (2-5, 0-3) and East Bernard (2-6, 0-4) meet for the 50th and are seeking their first district win. East Bernard holds a 38-11 edge in the series. East Bernard has lot six of its last seven games and Brazos Consolidated has lost four straight games. East Bernard has scored a total of 34 points in district play and Brazos Consolidated has scored a total of 35 points. East Bernard's Donnell Schuler has rushed for 649 yards and three touchdowns.

Hempstead Bobcats at Hallettsville Brahmas, 7:30

Last year: Hallettsville, 55-25.

Notes: Hallettsville (1-6, 1-2) meets Hempstead (5-2, 3-0) after defeating Schulenburg for its first win of the season. Hallettsville could still clinch a playoff berth by winning its final three district games and having Hempstead lose to Rice Consolidated or Weimar. Hempstead has taken district wins over Schulenburg, Brazos Consolidated and East Bernard. Hallettsville's six losses have come to teams with a combined record of 33-8. Hallettsville's 40 points last week against Schulenburg was its highest total this season. Hallettsville's Ryan Lenzy has rushed for 717 yards and six touchdowns.

Nixon-Smiley Mustangs at Karnes City Badgers, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Karnes City, 54-6.

Notes: Nixon-Smiley (1-6, 0-2) and Karnes City (6-1, 2-0) meet for the sixth straight season in district play. Karnes City owns a 3-2 edge during that span. Karnes City would maintain a share of the district lead with a win. Karnes City took district wins over Stockdale and Kenedy by a combined margin of 90-24. Nixon-Smiley has held only one opponent under 20 points this season and it came in its lone win. Karnes City's Jerome Hopkins has rushed for 612 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Kenedy Lions at Navarro Panthers, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Navarro, 62-0.

Notes: Kenedy (2-5, 0-2) and Navarro (6-1, 2-0) have been going in opposite directions. Kenedy travels to Geronimo having lost five straight games. Kenedy's two district losses have been by a combined score of 90-6. Navarro bounced back from a loss to Class 3A Somerset to take district wins over Nixon-Smiley and Poth by a combined score of 78-28 and would maintain a share of the district lead with a win. Kenedy's Rhett Bell has passed for 931 yards and seven touchdowns, and Jake Havron has an area-leading 39 receptions for 430 yards and three touchdowns.

Boling Bulldogs at Industrial Cobras, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Industrial, 49-25.

Notes: Boling (4-3, 2-0) and Industrial (6-1, 2-0) play for the 12th time since 1994 with at least a share of the district lead at stake in Vanderbilt. Industrial owns an 8-3 edge during that span. Industrial has yielded a total of 60 points in its six wins. Boling has scored a total of 134 points in its four wins. Boling has defeated Danbury and Tidehaven and is attempting to start district with three wins for the first time since 2006. Industrial has won seven consecutive district games. Austin Smalley, Blaine Rozner, Micah Montes and Eric Santillian have combined to rush for 1,321 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Hitchcock Bulldogs at Tidehvaen Tigers, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Hitchcock, 49-34.

Notes: Hitchcock (2-3, 2-0) travels to El Maton seeking to maintain a share of the district lead, while Tidehaven (2-5, 0-2) attempts to keep its playoff hopes alive. Tidehaven has opened district with losses to Industrial and Boling and must win its final three games or get help to return to postseason play. Hitchcock was winless until opening district with victories over Van Vleck and Danbury. Tidehaven's Sean Dannels has passed for 971 yards and six touchdowns, Marcus Lara has rushed for 612 yards and nine touchdowns, and Ian Wade and Colt Clontz have combined for 70 receptions for 610 yards and five touchdowns.

Van Vleck Leopards at Danbury Panthers, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Danbury, 21-7.

Notes: Van Vleck (1-6, 0-2) attempts to end an eight-game district losing streak when it plays Danbury (0-7, 0-2), which has lost four consecutive district games. Van Vleck had defeated Danbury eight straight times dating back to 1996 before losing last season. Danbury has scored a total of 59 points this season and Van Vleck has yielded a total of 190 points.

Refugio Bobcats at Taft Greyhounds, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Refugio, 50-13.

Notes: Refugio (7-0, 2-0) and Taft (6-1, 2-0) play for the 59th time with the outright district lead at stake. Refugio leads the series 41-14-3. Refugio has won 28 consecutive regular-season games and is ranked No. 6 in the state poll. Taft's lone loss this season was a 28-17 setback to Industrial. Refugio beat Industrial 42-6. With the exception of the Industrial game, Taft has scored a minimum of 36 points in every game and has scored 48 or more points four times. Refugio has allowed a total of 71 points this season. Refugio's Kyle Hendley has passed for 1,157 yards and six touchdowns, Terrence Smith, Draigon Silvas and Charlie Henderson have combined to rush for 1,133 yards and 17 touchdowns, and Jourdan Ortiz has 37 catches for 670 yards and two touchdowns.

Bloomington Bobcats at Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Skidmore-Tynan, 21-14.

Notes: Bloomington (1-6, 0-2) and Skidmore-Tynan (3-4, 0-2) seek their first district win. Bloomington and Skidmore-Tynan have had trouble scoring in district play. Bloomington has scored a total of 12 points in losses to Odem and Taft. Skidmore-Tynan has scored a total of seven points in loses to Taft and Banquete. Bloomington has lost 34 consecutive district games. Bloomington had gone nine quarters without scoring before getting into the end zone in the second quarter against Taft. Bloomington's Ryan De Los Santos has passed for 510 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 563 yards and five touchdowns.

Burton Panthers at Ganado Indians, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Ganado, 17-15.

Notes: Ganado (4-3, 1-1) finds itself in the identical position it was in last year when it played Burton (6-1, 2-0). Ganado is coming off a loss to Shiner in which it surrendered 30 points in the second half. Burton pulled out a one-point overtime win over Louise a week after beating Flatonia by two points. Ganado's win over Burton last season was critical to it making the playoffs. Burton's Montrell Crenshaw has rushed for 830 yards and 10 touchdowns. Ganado's Josh Labay has rushed for a district-leading 954 yards and 10 touchdowns. Ganado's Kevin Smith and Donovan Foster have combined to rush for 778 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Shiner Comanches at Somerville Yeguas, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Shiner, 56-0.

Notes: Shiner (6-1, 2-0) takes a six-game winning streak into its game against Somerville (5-1, 1-1). Somerville's lone loss came in its district opener against Ganado. Shiner has come from behind in its district wins over Louise and Ganado. Shiner is averaging over 336 yards of offense per game and over 243 yards rushing per game. Shiner's Curtis Shields, Josh Greathouse and Drew Stafford have combined to rush for 1,435 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Flatonia Bulldogs at Louise Hornets, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Flatonia, 39-27.

Notes: Flatonia (2-5, 0-2) and Louise (1-6, 0-2) have been the hard-luck teams of the district. Flatonia's losses to Burton and Somerville have been by a combined four points. Louise's losses to Shiner and Burton have been by a combined three points. The winner of this game will remain in playoff contention. Louise's six losses have been by a combined 27 points. Flatonia's five losses have been by a combined 34 points. Flatonia's Alex Hernandez has rushed for 817 yards and six touchdowns. Louise's Desmond Pulliam has rushed for 623 yards and nine touchdowns.

Runge Yellowjackets at Yorktown Wildcats, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Yorktown, 52-8.

Notes: Yorktown (6-1, 1-1) has won five straight over Runge (3-4, 1-1) dating back to 2002. Yorktown looks to bounce back from a 44-0 loss to Falls City. Yorktown was attempting to go 7-0 for the first time since 2004. Runge is coming off a 16-13 win over Charlotte, its first district victory since 2004. Runge has not had a winning record during district play since 1999. Runge's Ryan Perez has passed for 1,043 yards and 11 touchdowns. Yorktown's Erin Barefield has passed for 1,024 yards and 11 touchdowns, and Jayden Barefield has 34 catches for 658 yards and eight touchdowns.

Woodsboro Eagles at Charlotte Trojans, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Woodsboro, 7-2.

Notes: Woodsboro (4-3, 2-0) plays Charlotte (1-6, 0-2) seeking to maintain at least a share of the district lead. Woodsboro is attempting to start district 3-0 for the second consecutive season. Woodsboro is allowing an average of 13.2 points per game on the season and 9.5 points per game in district play. Charlotte has scored a total of 47 points this season. Woodsboro's Ronnie Martinez has rushed for 728 yards and eight touchdowns.

Hallettsville Sacred Heart Indians at Waco Texas Christian Stars, 7:30 p.m.

Last year: Sacred Heart, 48-0.

Notes: Sacred Heart (4-4, 1-0) would move into a tie for the district lead with idle Shiner St. Paul with a win over Texas Christian (1-6, 0-2). Sacred Heart opened district with a win over Bryan Brazos Christian and cruised to a 42-0 non-district win over Galveston O'Connell last week. Texas Christian has lot district games to St. Paul and Brazos Christian. Sacred Heart's Trenton Pilat has rushed for an area-leading 1,219 yards and 18 touchdowns and scored 112 points.

Bay City Blackcats at Rosenberg Terry Rangers, 7 p.m.

Last year: Bay City, 21-7.

Notes: Bay City (1-6, 0-2) travels to Traylor Stadium in Rosenberg to play Terry (4-2, 0-1) hoping for a repeat of last season. Bay City upset Terry and kept itself in playoff contention heading into its final district game against El Campo. Bay City's offensive woes continued in losses to Lamar Consolidated and Richmond Foster. Bay City has scored a total of 80 points this season and hasn't reached the 20-point mark since its season opener against Dayton. Terry had a three-game winning streak snapped by El Campo last week. Bay City's Derek Brown has passed for 607 yards and two touchdowns.
